Deep in the interiors of Mexico, three adolescent girls navigate their lives under the constant threat of narco operators and human traffickers, like others in the village where most men have left to work across the border. Writer-director Tatiana Huezo recreates the horrors of a society at the mercy of ruthless operators where lives can be snuffed without batting an eyelid. PRAYERS FOR THE STOLEN (Noche De Fuego, 2021, Mexico) is a nerve-wracking coming-of-age story from a powerful documentarian. This is her first feature film.
