Toulouse Indian Film Festival is managed and conducted by one of the most discerning film buff, film student and expert, Vanessa Frederique Bianchi.
Her passion for cinema and the warm place that Indian Cinema holds in her heart is rare. Frederique is extremely astute, discerning and uncompromising when it comes to selecting films for her festival. One of the few European film experts who doesn't romanticize India nor engages with it in a nostalgic manner.
As Frederique says, India is contemporary, thriving, a moving forward society, as much as any other society in the world. She therefore rejects nostalgia often associated with mummified vision of Indian films that reflects in most Indian films of the festival circuit.
